Traditional Wood Kitchen Cabinetry
Traditional cabinetry is a classic style of cabinets with features such as raised panels, beadboard details and other flourishes that have become increasingly popular as it's presence is not trendy, but more conventional. As trends come and go, your traditional style kitchen is most likely going to be the focal point of your home, with social gatherings that are warm and cozy with family and friends. Traditional kitchen or bath cabinetry are often rendered in dark woods or classic maple or painted in neutral colors.
Shaker Style Kitchen Cabinetry
While Shaker furniture dates back to the 18th century, the current surge in popularity of Shaker-style cabinetry has made it a staple of today's kitchen design. If you are a fan of Chip & Joanna Gaines - their kitchen and design style often showcases the Shaker style cabinetry in their own farm-style home as well as in their televised remodels. The modern farmhouse aesthetic often includes painted white Shaker-style cabinets and a farmhouse sink that seems to tap into some kind of deep nostalgia for a country side pastime. As far as kitchen cabinets go, with a lack of unecessary adornment and a simple recessed panel, a Shaker-style cabinet door is also a highly adaptable choice for a range of kitchen styles. Shaker style cabinets can come in natural wood tones such as cherry or maple or you can paint your cabinets if natural woodgrain tones aren't your thing. You try white, navy, forest green or matte black paint.
Glass Front Style Kitchen Cabinets
Glass front cabinets are often used sparingly in combination with all cabinets, sometimes backlit for extra drama as showcases for the family heirlooms, vintage decorative pieces, or glass and dishware collections. Even though this style of cabinetry is minimalistic, you can always give them more character with knobs and accessories, open front pull out shelves, a glass front wine chiller, or custom glass front cabinetry.
